Paul Maxwell – Founder and President
Paul developed the idea for Maxwell’s Music House in his 4th year studying business at Wilfrid Laurier University. In addition to completing a music minor, Paul studied Piano privately for 12 years and has been teaching equally as long. Paul won Young Entrepreneur through the KW Chamber of Commerce twice over the past few years as well as several other awards for his contributions to arts and entrepreneurship.
Dave Mansell – Vice President and Director of Education
Dave is currently teaching Guitar (electric & acoustic), Piano and songwriting at Maxwell’s Music House. A graduate from the University of British Columbia with a composition degree in double bass, Dave also has university equivalents in Piano, guitar and voice. Dave leads our Rockstar Public School Program and our popular Rockstar Camp for kids each March Break and summer months.
Kimberly Manning – Voice and Piano Instructor, Co-Creator of KiJengle
Kimberly currently teaches Piano and Voice lessons at Maxwell’s. She is also the Co-Creator of KiJengle, an inclusive music education and music therapy company that operates at Maxwell’s Music House and Kids Ability in Waterloo. Kimberly holds a Masters Degree in Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University, and is an accredited music therapist (MTA).
Michael Vukovich – Electric/Acoustic Guitar and Drum Instructor
Michael is currently teaching Electric and Acoustic guitar well as Beginner Drum lessons. Michael has had extensive formal training on guitar and has been the frontman for several bands over the past few years. Michael starred in and wrote all of the songs for a children’s television show called “Alfredo Tomato” that has been aired on Cogeco Cable.
Duncan McLennan – Drum and Percussion Instructor
Duncan recently graduated with a percussion degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. Duncan is currently teaching intermediate to advanced drum and percussion lessons. Duncan has performed with a wide variety of musical acts and artists ranging all the way from Orchestras to Funk Bands to accompanying singer/songwriters. Duncan is currently drumming for Canadian BillBoard artist Scotty James.
Fletcher Plannert – Voice, Piano and Guitar Instructor
Fletcher is a graduate of the Concurrent Music Education program at Queen’s University in Kingston. As a voice major, Fletcher’s academics focused primarily on classical training and repertoire, but much of his extracurricular time was spent performing and directing a variety of pop and rock ensembles. In high school he performed in four choirs and a barbershop quartet, as well as a production of “The Music Man”. He is a passionate and enthusiastic explorer of musical genre and technique, and enjoys helping students achieve a healthy production of their own unique sound.
Cassy Bauman – Piano and Voice Instructor
Cassy is currently completing her undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University for Voice Comprehensive. She has been singing for 15 years and throughout that time has developed a love for teaching that continues to be nurtured by her teachers and family. She received The Reverend Walter McCleary Memorial Trophy for Solo Voice, the highest award in the Senior Voice section at the Elmira Kiwanis Music Festival.
Ariane Bell Vila – Piano and Voice Instructor
Ariane is currently completing her undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University for a Bachelor of Music in Voice with a minor in physics. She is currently studying with Brandon Leis. She completed her RCM Grade 8 in Voice and in Piano prior to starting her University degree. She has also taken part in various Kiwanis musical theatre, classical and quick study competitions, placing first in one of her musical theatre classes. She also took part in various NATS competitions and most recently placed second in her class at the ORMTA competition in the summer of 2012.
